Intrigue is David’s third book. His first two books, Under the Spell of Matunuck and Matunuck Beach both capture the essence of the small coastal village of Matunuck in the southern part of Rhode Island. Intrigue is different. It does not have a central location that unites each picture but relies on the theme of intrigue to make each picture interesting, thought provoking, and intriguing. “I spent a lot of time as a teenager looking at books of photography. My favorites were the collections of photographs that appeared in the various annuals published by the photography magazines. Each picture was like a portal to a different time and place.” The pictures in Intrigue span almost six decades of photography and represent the many journeys that David has had in life, both physical and emotional.
