I am a photographer/musician and former mechanical engineer. I graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in mechanical engineering. After 30 years as an engineer I changed paths and pursued a career as a freelance trombonist and teacher. During all this time I continued my interest in photography, taking on freelance assignments and exhibiting my work. I started when I was 10 years old and never stopped taking pictures.
My father started me in photography when I was ten years old and, with the help of many, I developed my own style. I became fascinated with photography the everyday things that most photographers would walk past. I also developed commercial skills that led to assignments with CVS, Cumberland Farms and others.
Woonsocket, RI is my home town living there for forty years before moving to Matunuck, RI in 1993. My father, Julius, taught me the basics of photography when I was ten years old and eventually I joined the Woonsocket High School yearbook staff as the school photographer. I worked closely with the staff at Morin’s Photography Studio for three years where I was able to learn skills needed for the many freelance assignments that followed.
I have published three books, Under the Spell of Matunuck, Matunuck Beach, and Intrigue. I have a small gallery/workshop in Matunuck where I sell my books and framed prints.
